More than 20 players and community members were successfully trained as Rookie Rugby Instructors yesterday at Riverside Park. USA Rugby’s Erin Kennedy led the hour-plus session. Trainees were taught games and instruction methods and had a good time doing so.
Jim Clawson of the Birmingham Area Youth RFC is helping organize the application of the training. Instructors will be able to help local, interested schools with Rookie Rugby programs for their students in PE or after school programs.
