Soon after the first team match, the Killer B’s took the field under the lights of Doyt Perry stadium. Again, things did not get much better for the Maize and Blue. Several minutes after the kickoff, a BGSU back took a hard crash through the line for an easy score and conversion. Scoring settled down for a while as both teams played great defense along with mistakes on offense.
In the 13’ minute, Michigan brought the ball down to the BGSU 10. A crooked line out throw allowed BGSU to kick the ball to the 30 yard line after the resulting scrum. Michigan battled back with slow balls and gained significant yardage back until a penalty in the ruck. Four minutes later, a BGSU player found a gap in the defense for another try.
Before the end of the half though, Michigan earned their first score of the night. Michigan’s scrumhalf, Mark Borowski, stole the ball from a BGSU scrum and cut between BGSU defenders for 40 yards. This set up a flyhalf crash from Evan Noon for a try. The missed conversion left the score 14-5 at half.
In the second half, BGSU got back to its scoring ways. Again, they would score in the third minute of the half after the forwards pounded the ball in. Five minutes later, BGSU would take it down the sidelines where offloads and missed tackles resulted in a BG score and conversion.
BGSU had its way the rest of the match adding tries and conversions at the 16’, 20’, and 23’ for a final score of 49-5.
