Why Rugby?
Rugby offered me a chance to compete as an athlete against other colleges and be a part of a high-caliber team.
What have you liked about Michigan rugby the most so far?
I like competing on the pitch against other teams the most. Matches are an opportunity to prove yourself as a player and for the team to measure itself against an opponent which is exciting.
Most memorable moment on the pitch?
First try against Saginaw Valley State during winter XV’s. Zach Burns Junior had made a long run to about 20 meters outside the opponents try line and I sprinted down in support to score the try.
What’s your favorite rugby drill in practice?
My favorite rugby drill is 1v1 tackling because it is a great opportunity to improve on my fundamentals.
What other sports have you played?
I played football throughout high school, and baseball for two years in high school. In youth, I played basketball and soccer as well.
In 5 years, what do you see yourself doing?
Something important
What’s some embarrassing childhood memories you can share with us?
My brother and I were dueling each other with cardboard poles in the kitchen when I was about 8 years old. Unfortunately, we ended up knocking over and destroying a vase of my mother’s, which was a unique work made by a local potter, over the course of our sword fighting. She was upset with us to say the least.
