On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, the University of Michigan is once again turning Giving Tuesday, the national movement to kick off the giving season, into Giving Blueday. You can help fund our athletes’ pursuit for greatness both on and off the field by donating to Michigan Rugby!
What is Giving Blueday?
Giving Blueday 2015 is the University of Michigan’s second annual day of giving. It falls on December 1, 2015, from 12:00 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. EST, coinciding with Giving Tuesday—a global day of giving following Thanksgiving weekend. Giving Blueday is a day for everyone who loves Michigan to join together to combine their support and maximize the impact.
Why should I give to Michigan Rugby?
Your donation will help fund operational cost (i.e. facilities, travel, etc) and the continued development of the resources needed to compete at the highest level.
I’m a student. What can I do on Giving Blueday?
You, as a student, can get involved in three ways:
- Share your voice! Join us on the Diag and Pierpont Commons on December 1, 2015 between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to tell us what you think needs support at Michigan. Twenty of these U-M areas recommended by students will be randomly selected and awarded $50.
- Make twice the impact with your gift! Made possible by generous U-M donors, there will be a $40,000 match on Giving Blueday for any gifts made by a student.
- Participate in our social media challenges! Help us spread the word! Share Giving Blueday content on your social media networks.
How do I know where to give for Giving Blueday?
You can give to the rugby team by using this link: UMRFC Gift Fund
Is there a minimum donation amount?
Gifts of all sizes are welcome. Every gift matters!
Are there tax benefits to making a gift to U-M?
The University of Michigan has 501(c)(3) non-profit tax exempt status; our federal tax ID number is 38-6006309.
Your gift may provide you with federal and state income tax benefits:
If you itemize deductions on your federal income tax return, you may be able to deduct your contribution to U-M from your adjusted gross income. Your state may also allow a credit or deduction.
We hope you will join us in helping build a brighter future for the rugby squad here on campus. If you have any questions please contact coach Brandon Sparks at: sparksbr@umich.edu
