As we head into the summer season CRC squad member and sophomore (soon to be junior), David Caputo is this month’s SISU player of the month! David joined UMRFC as a freshman coming from 2016 National Championship Winner, Mystic River Rugby Club, and playing high school rugby at St. John’s Prep in Massachusetts.
Here at Michigan Rugby we pride ourselves on having not just great rugby players, but great people and David is certainly an impressive young man. David has been awarded the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company Life of Significance Award which is given annually at the Collegiate Rugby Challenge to a player who “exemplifies Penn Mutual’s values of integrity, commitment and respect, and has made substantial contributions to society and their community” (pennmutual.com). David established his own non-profit, known as Literacy Link, which collects books and donates them to low income families.
