Top 23
The game began on a beautiful crisp day over on the turf field. Top 23 starts off strong with a try from Travis Dantzer and conversion by Eoin, leading the score 7 – 0 within the first 7 minutes. In the last ten minutes of the first half, Nick Campbell comes in fast with support from Ian Kwant on a wide run. The conversion is no good, but Michigan ends the first half with an impressive score of 12 – 0. After a long hustle in the second half, Will Biel scores, bringing up the scoreboard 17 – 0, with no conversion. Seventeen minutes left in the game, Illinois scores their first and second try, tightening up the score to 17 – 12 Wolverines. Feeling the pressure, Muter succeeds with a strong try, followed by a long conversion from Truman. The game ends with Michigan in the lead, 24 – 17.

Academy Side
Academy keeps up the positive energy from Top 23. After a few tries and a tough run by both teams, the academy game wraps up the first half with two tries by Conor and Walter, setting the scoreboard 10 – 19 Illinois. Illinois responds promptly with another successful try, heating up the game. Truman comes in fast with a try, but no conversion. Davis Grimm hustles in after with another try and failed conversion. The score builds, 20 – 24. After another exciting run by Watson, Michigan takes the lead with a successful try and conversion, 27 – 14, the score is close. The Wolverines are fire this second half, as Conor scores his second try of the game, and Visco following soon after with a diving try, and Truman supports, making the kick. Michigan shoots up the scoreboard 41 – 24. After one last score by Illinois, the game is finished and Michigan ends both games in the lead.
