Why did you decide to play rugby?
My brother forced me into a life of pain.
What have you liked about Michigan Rugby so far?
It’s a wonderful community that accepted me from day one, even as a pretty small guy.
Describe your most memorable moment on the field
Being a part of the undefeated Team Gobble Gobble during the 2021 Turkey Bowl was wonderful. To think that team Turkey (the Animal) played 80 minutes of 12s(ish) rugby in 30 degree weather only to suffer such a heartbreaking loss.
What’s your most favorite rugby drill in practice? Least favorite?
Favorite: the Wolverine. Least favorite: water break.
What other sports have you played?
None
What do you see yourself doing in five years?
Living in my brother’s basement, right in the shadow of his successes.
What is an embarrassing childhood memory that you can share with us?
One time Michigan Rugby President George Janke was beating me in Monopoly so I tackled him off of his chair.

What is your biggest fear?
George staying stronger than me for another year.
What is your favorite food?
Oatmeal
Do you have any game-day superstitions? Explain.
I like to get a full night of sleep the night before the game.

No future Internal Operations Director will match Alonzo Cortez.
