March 16 is Giving Blueday, the University’s annual day of giving. Michigan Rugby is seeking to raise $25,000 to continue funding athletic trainers at all practices and to fund buses for all team travel.
This is part of our continued effort to bring championship-caliber rugby to the University of Michigan, and it builds on our progress in the last year:
- We increased the size and professionalism of our officer board, including by outsourcing positions to non-players. We’re proud that three women are now part of club operations, which is a first.
- We implemented improvements to our game day experience for players and fans, including more tent coverage and signage. Hundreds of fans attended games in Fall 2021, and we also launched an online broadcast of all games.
- We enacted improvements to our budgetary processes. With much more financial data, the club can make more informed decisions when handling your money.
- We launched Michigan Rugby Unrivaled, our vision that by 2030, Michigan Rugby will have varsity and club teams, a dedicated facility, full-time coaching, and best-in-class recruiting.
