Why did you decide to play rugby?
A few weeks before my freshman year I realized that I wasn’t quite ready to step away from sports and was told by several family friends to look into Michigan Rugby!

What have you liked about your time on Michigan Rugby?
I think that my favorite part of Michigan Rugby has been watching the club evolve over the last four years. It’s been really gratifying to see the effort that fellow seniors and myself put into the club result in real on- and off-field changes that have bettered the club. Outside of that, absolutely amazing group of guys and culture. Grateful for the many lifelong friends MRugby has given me!

Describe your most memorable moment on the field.
Scoring a try against Indiana in the Big 10 Championship Tournament this past April. Shoutout Ty West for the support line and pop!!

What’s your most favorite rugby drill in practice? Least favorite?
Most favorite – Ty Ball. Least favorite – Ultimate Kickoff because I am god awful at kicking

What other sports have you played?
Football, Lacrosse

What do you see yourself doing in five years?
Working in Real Estate Private Equity in Los Angeles!

What is an embarrassing childhood memory that you can share with us?
My first ever lacrosse game I forgot my jersey so was forced to play goalie; it ended up becoming my permanent position (initially against my will…)

What is your favorite place in Ann Arbor?
Very tough question. The Arb has a very special place in my heart, however the Korean restaurant Rich JC is a close second.

What is your biggest fear?
Did not expect to get this deep. Hm. I would have to go with achieving success in my life but having nobody to share it with (or generally not having friends).

What is your favorite food?
Italian

Do you have any game-day superstitions? Explain.
Sort of. I tend to spend the last 5 minutes in the locker room listening to the most anger-inducing rap possible while watching hardest hits of all time videos on Youtube (rugby or football).

Who is your favorite superhero and why?
Iron Man. He’s Iron Man.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
There is no such thing as excessive gratitude—always be grateful for what you have and maintain perspective in your life. You will never be above telling someone thank you or that you appreciate them!!

Again, congratulations to our May Player of the Month, Langston Sholl!
