Why did you decide to play rugby?
I decided to play rugby when I transferred because I wanted to continue being an athlete after playing lacrosse my freshman year at Kean University. I missed playing football so much from when I was in High School. I decided to play rugby, and it is one of the best decisions I have made in my athletic career.
What have you liked about Michigan Rugby so far?
The dedication of the players and the community that surrounds the team.
Describe your most memorable moment on the field.
My most memorable moments came during the Wisconsin game. It was my first start in the pouring rain. It was also parents weekend, so my parents were able to watch me play rugby for the first time ever. After the game It really put into perspective for me how rewarding it felt to put in 80 hard Faught minutes next to my great teammates who battle so hard on the field every week.
What’s your most favorite rugby drill in practice? Least favorite?
Favorite: Gaelic Football
Least Favorite: League touch
What other sports have you played?
Football, Lacrosse, Baseball, Basketball, Gaelic Football, Track. Football and Lacrosse were my favorites.
What do you see yourself doing in five years?
Being involved in creative production for a studio or on TV. If not in the film industry, then maybe working in business.
What is an embarrassing childhood memory that you can share with us?
I ripped my pants at ski club in middle school.
What is your favorite place in Ann Arbor?
White Street

Who’s your favorite superhero? Why?
Batman, because some say I sound like him and what’s not to like about him.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice I have received in sports was from my High School football coach. Early on in High I remember him saying “You don’t choose the time, the time chooses you.” This referenced players waiting to make that big play and for their hard work to pay off on the field. It made me realize that as long as I was doing my job, we can all make those plays that define the outcomes of games. It is something that has always stuck with me on the field.
Again, congratulations to our October Player of the Month, Michael Crismale!
