The Wolverines got back on the winning foot against Purdue in dominant fashion, bringing their record to 2-2 in the Big Ten. Kyle Spence opened the scoring with a try. Purdue later look at 7-5 lead but a try by Nathan Feldman, converted by Max Rector, closed the half to give Michigan a 12 – 7 lead at the break. The game remained back-and-forth in the first 10 minutes of the second half, with Conor Egan scoring a try and another successful conversion by Max Rector, but Purdue converting their own to make it 19 – 14. However, the Wolverines broke away during the final 30 minutes, including two successive tries within three minutes, by George Janke and Nathan Feldman, and two amazing conversions by Max Rector to gain a 33 – 14 lead. With only three minutes left on the clock, Brendan Nell scored another for a 40 – 14 lead, with another successful conversion by Feldman. To end the game, Feldman sailed in for another try for a hat trick, leading the Wolverines for a 45 – 14 win.
The Wolverines’ second side also won against the Boilermakers, 29 – 10. The first half went the Wolverines’ way with tries by Conor McNabnay, Armen Vartanian, and Devin Riley and a single Jackson Cox conversion to lead 19 – 5. After 20 scoreless minutes, Justin Ladd’s first try gave Michigan a 24 – 10 lead. To cap off the game, McNabnay scored another for a 29 – 10 finish.
Previously, to open the day, the third side went up against the Ypsilanti Men’s team in 10s to gain more experience, losing 57 – 0.
