This year’s MRugby Intrasquad Tournament, although looking different from previous years due to social distancing limitations, kicked off last week. We have provided standings below and a short review of each of the teams’ performances this round.

As recently as 2020, Michigan Rugby conducted a multi-week intrasquad sevens tournament each winter. Scheduled during the off-season, intrasquads present an avenue for increased team engagement through fun competition. Sues was widely regarded as the favorite at the beginning of the tournament, and while they never led our power rankings, they delivered on that hype when it mattered.

In contrast to Round 4, Round 5 had a slew of entertaining games. Dudes finally lost, and Ross finally won. Dudes vs. Sues came down to the final minute. Looking ahead, four teams remain in the race for the Intrasquads title.

Intrasquads Round 4 featured a spate of blowouts; only one game was decided by less than 25 points. While it resulted in less exciting rugby, it did provide clarity on which teams are legit contenders for the title.
