This is the final installment in a series of articles recognizing the players that are leaving our program. In this article, we thank the seven seniors that have yet to be recognized.
It’s time to acknowledge some of our graduating seniors. Half of the 13 seniors are recognized below. The other half will receive recognition in a separate article next week.
Michigan Rugby has almost finalized its game schedule for this fall. The Wolverines currently have a nine game slate including five Big Ten matchups, three non-conference matchups, and one game at the Big Ten Championships in November.
This May is Senior Appreciation Month! In this article, I’ll acknowledge the exchange students who are leaving the program. Future articles will focus on the seniors.
Herb played at Michigan from 1974 to 1979, and spent time at #8, flanker, and prop. As his longtime friend Greg Rose says, Herb was “one of the most inspirational players we had back then.”
Congratulations to the April Alumnus of the Month, Peter Donnelly. Peter played number 8 for the Wolverines during the 1983-84 season. Earlier this year, he was knighted by Prince Charles!
Well this is a little awkward…I was chosen as Player of the Month. However, I also obviously write all of the Player of the Month articles. I formatted it the same way it usually is and answered all the questions that I usually ask.
As you’ve probably already realized, Michigan Rugby’s spring season is cancelled. While it’s painful for us to lose out on our season, public safety is more important at this time.
This year’s Michigan Rugby spring break trip (aka tour) took place from February 28 to March 8. You can read about the details of the trip here. We documented our travels through daily diary entries written by different members of the team.
