Thank you for you interest in Michigan Rugby and for supporting your son’s participation in our great sport. Parents are a critical piece of our community, alongside players, coaches, alumni, fans, and administrators. This broad, inclusive sense of community is critical to rugby, and one of its hallmarks.

Game Schedule
In the fall we play 15s rugby. There are fifteen players on the field for each team and games have two forty-minute halves. Competitions generally have 1st- and 2nd-side games.
In the spring we play 7s rugby in which there are seven players on the field for each team and games have two seven-minute halves. Competitions will generally have 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3rd side games.

Gameday Meals
Michigan Rugby parents help the team in a variety of ways, including the setup of game day meals at home games. In rugby, it’s tradition that the home teams provide food for all competitors. Our involvement on the field makes setting up these meals difficult.

Parents Weekend
Each fall we host a Parents Weekend. This fall, it’s September 27-28, and we’ll hold a Friday dinner on campus for all interested family members.
Your son will receive an RSVP form that can be submitted so we can accurately plan food and space. We hope to see you there!
Giving Blueday
Michigan Unrivaled is the name of our transformative journey to make Michigan Rugby a world-class experience for all. What our program currently provides for its students, and hopes to provide in the future, simply isn’t possible without private support. Last year, more than 260 donors contributed over $60,000 toward our program! Thank you for helping make Michigan Rugby truly unrivaled.
Giving Blueday is the university’s—and our team’s—annual day of giving. This day will come in March, but if you’re interested in hearing more about the team’s future plans, contact our Director of Development, Matt Trenary, at mensrugby@umich.edu.
